The apron worn from your Initiation until you are passed to the Second Degree.
The Entered Apprentice apron is the plainest piece of regalia in Freemasonry, and that is the point. No rosettes, no levels, no tassels, no coloured edging. The Book of Constitutions specifies a plain white lambskin, fourteen to sixteen inches wide and twelve to fourteen inches deep, square at the bottom, without ornament, with white strings. Ours is made to that specification.
The flap is worn raised in the First Degree and turned down once you have been passed. Many Brothers keep this apron long after they have moved on from it, since it is the one they were invested with.
